About Walter

Walter Beasley, born on May 24th, 1961, is considered to be the Highest selling full-time Professor/Recording Artist in modern history. He is an award winning alto/soprano saxophonist and singer, composer and producer, founder and CEO of Affable Publishing and Affable Records and was a professor at Berklee for 35 years. Today, he continues to share his knowledge with the world and with his students with online classes and short lessons and tips on social media.

A passionate man, always focused on his love for music, by the young age of 13 he was already playing and singing with a band called Los Elegantes.

Since 1987 he has released 26 albums. He has been in the top 10 best-selling African American saxophonists in the world since 1998, winning several awards like the title of Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year in 2019 and Soul Tracks’ Instrumentalist of the Year award in 2023. Also, released several educational DVD's and 3 books.

In the year 2023 he did a tour across the country for the first time in 5 years (as he went home to take care of his parents). He also released new music, like the singles Déjà Vu, Nice and Easy (featuring Najee), Lil’ Darlin’, Do You Wanna Dance (featuring Rebecca Jade) and the album Do You Wanna Dance, along with the Nice and Easy cookbook and the book Performance Insight (for Musicians) vol II.

After many years of career he continues to be an inspiration and role model for many of people, including the younger generations.
